Children's Classes

Les Petits Amis

 

 

Monday 3:30 to 5:00 pm

Ages: 3  to 5 (some knowledge of French preferable)

Program: The children will develop some understanding of the French language through songs, games, stories, and cartoons. The course will focus on the two oral skills: comprehension and expression.

Objectives: To expose children to French and to give them basic communicative skills.

Program dates: September 19 to December 12, 2011; January 9 to March 26, 2012; April 16 to June 11, 2012

                         No classes November 21, January 16, February 20, May 28.

Tuition (annual):   First child:  $500;       second child: $400

***Discount for Early Enrollment before September 5: $20 discount for one child, $30 for two children.***

Registration Policy: Maximum class size is 10. A minimum of 6 students is required for a class. A class of 5 may continue if parents agree to decrease the number of classes.

Les Amis

Tuesday 3:30pm to 5:00pm

Ages: 5 ½ to 8 (with prior knowledge of French)

Program: The students engage in activities that encourage them to speak French: games, songs, role-play. “Alex et Zoé” textbook and other material may be used in the classroom for reading and writing exercises. Small class size ensures that each child receives maximum individual attention.

Objectives: To develop the children’s communicative skills in French and give them the confidence to use the language in practical situations.

Program dates:     October 11 to December 13, 2011; January 10 to March 27, 2012; April 17 to June 12, 2012.

No class: November 22.

Tuition: New students:  $500;  $400 second child.

              Returning students:  $450;  $350 second child

Additional fee for textbooks.

Program: Reading, writing, oral communication, grammar, vocabulary building. Some homework will be assigned every week. Small class size ensures that each child receives maximum individual attention.

Objectives: The students will be able to communicate at an advanced intermediate level orally and in writing. They will read at least three French books during the year.

Program Dates: October - December; January 13 to March 26; April 20 to June 11.

Tuition (annual): New students:  $470;  $375 second child.

              Returning students:  $420;  $325 second child

Ages: 8 to 13 (Beginner level)

Program:  The students will be introduced to French starting with greetings and practical words. The course will focus on correct pronunciation, vocabulary building, and the ability to read simple sentences. A textbook and activity book will be used. Some homework will be assigned every week. Small class size ensures that each child receives maximum individual attention.

Objectives:  To expose children to French and to give them the abillity to communicate at a beginner level.

Program Dates:  October 13 to December 15, 2011; January 12 to March 29, 2012; April 19 to June 14, 2012.

No class: November 22.
